Meet Paloma Myers
Bilingual Graduate Counseling Intern serving clients in English and Spanish
Meet Paloma Myers
Paloma is a Graduate Counseling Intern at Hope on the Horizon TX Counseling Center, offering affordable counseling in English and Spanish under the supervision of Natalie Parffrey, MS, LPC.
Do you feel like your mind is always going, even when you are exhausted and desperately want a break? Maybe you are dealing with anxiety, overthinking, relationship stress, family conflict, low self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or the pressure of trying to keep everyone else happy.
Maybe you are carrying experiences from your past that still affect how you see yourself, communicate, trust others, or show up in relationships. Or perhaps you are going through a major life change and realizing that the ways you have always coped are not working anymore.
You may understand why you feel the way you do and still have no idea how to change it. You do not have to figure it out alone.
How I Can Help
I enjoy working with individuals and couples navigating concerns such as:
- Anxiety, stress, and overthinking
- Trauma and difficult past experiences
- Relationship and communication problems
- Family conflict and generational patterns
- Self-esteem and self-worth
- People-pleasing and difficulty setting boundaries
- Perfectionism and feeling “never good enough”
- Life transitions and feeling stuck
- Cultural identity and family expectations
- Breaking unhealthy patterns and building healthier relationships
My Approach to Counseling
In our sessions, my goal is to give you a space where you can be honest, slow down, and talk about what is really going on without feeling judged.
Together, we can explore where certain patterns came from, understand how they may still be affecting you today, and work toward practical changes that make life and relationships feel more manageable.
My style is warm, supportive, down-to-earth, and direct when needed.
I want therapy to be a place where you feel understood, but I also want you to leave with insights and tools you can actually use outside of our sessions.
As a first-generation immigrant, I understand that culture, identity, family expectations, relationships, and your own personal goals can sometimes pull you in different directions.
You do not have to choose which parts of yourself belong in therapy. You can bring all of you into the room.
The Benefit of Supervised Counseling
As a Graduate Counseling Intern, I work closely with my clinical supervisor, Natalie Parffrey, MS, LPC. This means you receive affordable counseling with the added benefit of ongoing clinical consultation, guidance, and support behind the scenes.
You get a therapist who is invested in your care, with an experienced clinician helping support the work we do together.
Outside the Counseling Room
When I am not working or studying, you can usually find me spending time with my corgis, being outdoors, or taking care of my plants.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you are used to handling everything on your own. You do not need to know exactly what is wrong, have the right words, or know where to begin.
We can start wherever you are.
